North Mountain Vacation Rentals is located in the middle of the Monongahela National Forest 7½ miles in on a gravel base road off of Route 28 near Cabins, WV. This area is extremely secluded with abundant wildlife just 4 miles from the Historic Smokehole Recreation Area.
When you drive into the canyon, you will notice the angle of the jagged rock formations twisted almost into horseshoe shapes from the evolution process from millions of years ago. Bald eagles soar through the air effortlessly as they hunt for game and fish in the river below. Deer are everywhere for your enjoyment. If you are lucky, you may spot an otter or a bear. They too are a part of this beautiful terrain. Located near by is the Seneca Rocks Recreation area with its trail to the top of Seneca Rocks, or if you like, ride to the top on horseback. Take some time and learn to mountain climb at the climbing school near Harper's old country store. Also stop by and visit the Caverns at Seneca and Smokehole. This is the perfect environment for hiking, fishing, mountain biking, cross country skiing, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, hunting, photography, sightseeing and picnics or simply relaxing in a quiet secluded area surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
